Thank you for your inquiry about Sheets Memorial Christian School. Our school is approved by the State of North Carolina and accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, as well as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Our graduates have been accepted by the leading colleges in our area as well as by colleges throughout the U.S.
We maintain a Christian perspective in our approach to education. That is, all truth is God’s truth of Math, Science, and all other subjects are integrated with the teaching of God’s Word in that area.
All new students and parents are required to have an interview with the administrator, have submitted a completed application, and have a pastor’s recommendation from the church you are presently, actively attending before final acceptance.

Sheets Memorial Christian School is an extension of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, and provides an educational program for students from 2 years old through the 12th grade. It is a private, non-profit and non-sectarian Christian school offering educational services to families in Lexington and surrounding areas.

Enrollment is open to all students whose parents are in agreement with the Christian philosophy, purposes and standards of the school.

Sheets Memorial Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, in any school administered programs.

 

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Sheets Memorial Christian School is a ministry of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. The basis of our ministry is drawn from the same Statement of Faith. A summary of that statement is listed below:

1. We believe in the Bible as the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God, without error.
2. We believe in the Godhead existing in three Persons-Father, Son, Holy Spirit, equal in all respects.
3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, virgin born, manifested in the flesh, died for the sins of the world, buried, arose bodily the third day from the grave, ascended to Heaven, and imminent return.
4. We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity.
5. We believe man was created (not evolved) in God’s image, sinned, totally depraved, and needs salvation.
6. We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Christ, without human merit, involving repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. The believer is eternally kept and secure in Christ.
7. We believe the local church is composed only of believers, baptized by immersion, organized, observing the 2 ordinances seeking to carry out the Great Commission.
8. We believe Satan is a person, the archenemy of God and God’s people.
9. We believe in the imminent return of Christ for His church prior to the Tribulation period, and return to earth to set up His Kingdom after the Tribulation. The saved will be forever with the Lord, the lost will be confined for eternity in the lake of Fire.
